Jeff, Caroline, and Amy are all seniors at Washington University in St. Louis studying Biomedical Engineering. They share an interest in medical imaging. Jeff plans to attend medical school after attaining his BS in Biomedical Engineering. Besides engineering, Jeff is also pursuing a minor in Psychology. He works in the Gautam Lab at Washington University School of Medicine, researching the effects of light on G-protein reactivity, also known as optogenetics. Caroline plans to get her MS in Biomedical Engineering before going into the imaging industry. Outside of engineering, Caroline is also pursuing a minor in Marketing. She is involved in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Wash U, works at the Career Center, and is a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon (engineering & science sorority). Amy is considering a MS in Biomedical Engineering but may also go directly into industry or a research career. Amy also has a minor in Physics. Outside of the classroom, she plays basketball, is a coach for Science Olympiad, and is also a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon.
Our Mentors
Dr. Nico Dosenbachis an instructor in the Division of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Neurology and sees patients as part of the Pediatric Neurorehabilitation Program at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Dr. Dosenbach will use multimodal MRI to study use-dependent neural plasticity following brain injury in children.
